In the forests of Northern England, a war that has been fought for over a century rages on; between the British Red squirrel and a foreign invader. Red squirrel populations have declined rapidly since the larger Grey Squirrel arrived on these shores in 1870; from 3.5 million UK wide to just 15 000 left in England, the Red Squirrel is critically endangered. However, pockets of resistance remain, guarded by passionate individuals armed with a zero-tolerance attitude when it comes to squirrels.
